Say Goodbye to PvP
Why are there now MORE NPCs in a PvP arena than actual people?
Why aren't HEROS limited to HERO battles?
Why was this CHANGE made?
Will Hero's Ascent EVER be the SAME?
This was the one enjoyment I had in Guild Wars. My Guild members and I are completely upset. The joy of preordering and playing the new Guild Wars campaign has been completely marred. I don't want the game anymore. I've wasted my money. But I bet the developers are happy that they got my $50. But if things aren't returned to the way they were before, they'll never be seeing another cent of my money. I have all campaigns, have bought extra character slots, etc...I am a LOYAL Guild Wars member and I am about to do away with the whole game. I'm considering mailing NCSoft/ANet all of my GW campaign boxes because I won't need them anymore. Unfortunately I can't get my money back either.
I love the PvE aspects of the game. That's how I got started on Guild Wars, but PvP was why I stayed with Guild Wars.
What's the point of having a guild now when you can run a guild vs. guild with all NPCs? It should be called Hero Wars instead of Guild Wars now. I can't even play with my guildies all together anymore. We have to split up. A human group is no match against computer AI. And that's why PvP was so unique and fun...because it was never the same. People had to use their skills and knowledge and gut instincts...now a person with little experience can go in and kill an entire team of dedicated PvP players by placing one of their NPC interrupters on another team's casters.
To quote my guildie "It's a shame we have to resort to playing like this". The only people who like this change are the people who don't like to interact with other people or who find it "hard" to win a battle. Team Arenas are practice for Hero's Ascent. And people just want an easy fix for everything.
Heroes belong in Hero Battles, not in TRUE PvP arenas. If anything at all, heroes should be limited to 1-2 per team. Henchies were okay because they weren't customizable and controllable. They encouraged people to actually play with REAL PEOPLE.
Heroes are defined as NON PLAYER CHARACTERS...so they should not be allowed to overrun PLAYER versus PLAYER combat arenas.
I'm all for Hero Battles - good for that. But Hero's Ascent has become Hero Battles. It's taken all of the fun out of PvP....well....it's taken away PvP completely.
I'm boycotting Guild Wars until this issue has been resolved.

I want to play with REAL people in PLAYER versus PLAYER combat. I don't want FREE FAME. I want to have fun, hone skills, play with other people, learn new things, etc.
NPCs like Heroes do NOT belong in PvP combat, I'm sorry. They belong in Hero Battles.
And Hero's Ascent is 6v6, not 8v8.
If someone wins Halls now...what claim to fame do they have?
'Yay! I just beat a whole bunch of computer AI! Wee!"
I want to be able to win and know that because of the skill of my team, we have beat other skilled HUMAN teams in combat.
I mean...can anyone even HOLD Halls now? It seems so random to me?
I want players in PvP combat, not NPCs, the end.

meh, think of it as playing a fast-paced RTS. You're still playing against another player in the same sense I suppose... :-)

I actually find it quite fun whether facing a hero team or playing one. Facing one usually because if your human team can't beat a hero team you probably don't deserve to win anyways. =/

Heroes need to be limited to hero battles only period. They are making the game more and more like a single player rpg than a online game.

The whole point of PvP is for player versus player combat. I don't care if heros are the easiest thing in the world. I don't want to play against the stupid computer.
They shouldn't be in PvP COMBAT...omg people, don't you realize this? It's not PvP anymore!
